With the Sea of Japan on its northern coast and Seto Inland Sea on its southern coast, lush nature can be seen all across Hyogo Prefecture. A collection of five of Japan’s former “countries,” the region has developed a diverse and abundant food culture. Local delicacies include rich seafood from the Sea of Japan and Seto Inland Sea, fresh vegetables and fruits, breweries that represent Japan, local Hyogo brand meat, and sweets of both Japanese and western styles.
